Introduction & Explanation

This project involved the design and installation of a bespoke timber fence and pedestrian gate for a residential property in Thanet. The client wanted a clean, open-slatted style that gave the front of the property a fresh and structured look while maintaining visibility from the street.

We built the fence panels and gate from scratch to fit the exact dimensions of the space, fitting them directly onto the existing boundary wall. The gate was hung with black ironmongery hardware including heavy duty hinges and a latch, giving a sharp contrast against the natural timber finish.

All sections were carefully measured, cut and fitted on site to ensure a consistent gap between slats and a level run across the full width of the property.

Outcome & Insights

The finished fence and gate transformed the front of the property, giving it a clean and well-defined boundary that immediately improved the kerb appeal.

The natural timber finish works well against the existing brickwork and stone capping, and the client has the option to stain or paint the timber to their preference as it weathers in. Projects like this show how a relatively straightforward carpentry job can make a significant visual difference to a property with minimal disruption.
